Do I need to be 21 to rent or purchase equipment?

Yes. You must be a least 21-year-old to rent or purchase any equipment.

Do I need to be 21 to return empty kegs?

Yes, you must be at least 21 years old to return kegs.

Do I need to be 21 to enter W. R. Hickey's?

Yes. All person's entering Hickey's must be 21 years of age or older, whether purchasing beer or not.

What form of ID is needed to enter W. R. Hickey and purchase beer or equipment?

We will only accept a state issued photo driver's license or a state issued photo ID card.
Duplicate licenses will require a studen picture ID.

All forms of ID must be current.

Why do you need my name and address?

According to the PA Liquor Control Board, purchases of three or more cases and all keg beer must be recorded with the purchaser's name and address.

Can I purchase just a 6-pack?

No, since we are a distributor, we can only sell beer in its original package by the case or keg.

Will beer go bad if it is not refrigerated?

Case beer does not need to be refrigerated, however direct sunlight and extreme heat or cold will effect the beer. Room temperature will be fine, although we suggest storing in a cool, dark area.

Draft beer should be treated as if it were "milk" If draft beer is not kept cold, it will go bad. We suggest storing between 34 and 38 degrees. 

Do I need to reserve a keg or case in advance?

No, since we are a master distributor, we always have a large selection of draft and case beer in stock.

How much beer is in a keg?

1/2 keg = 15.5 gallons, 1984 oz., 7 cases, and approximately 165 12oz. servings
1/4 keg = 7.5 gallons, 960 oz., 3.5 cases, and approximately 83 12 oz. servings
1/6 keg = 5 gallons, 640 oz., 2.5 cases, and approximately 55 12 oz. servings

How much does a keg weigh?

1/2 keg weighs 170 lbs.
1/4 keg weighs 90 lbs.
1/6 keg weighs 55-60 lbs.

What are your deposits for keg beer and equipment?

On taps there is a $40.00 deposit and a $5.00 rental charge
On tubs there is a $15.00 deposit and a $5.00 rental charge
On 1/2 & 1/4 kegs there is a $30.00 deposit
On 1/6 kegs there is a $30.00 deposit
All equipment must be returned within 2 working days in order to receive your full deposit back.

Can I purchase equipment?

Yes. Taps can be purchased between $40.00 and $50.00 depending on the style.
We sell draft conversion kits for your refrigerator for $215.00 plus tax (call for details)
We also carry a large selection of parts for CO2 systems.
